Three Words

What exactly does "I love you" mean? I suppose it has different meanings for different people. But one would think that any "meaning" tied to "I love you" has to be positively special and when spoken to the right person, invokes powerful emotions...

I say "I love you" to only a select few people in my life. And I say it every single day. Sometimes more than once! How can one not tell the important people in their lives how much they mean to them? Or how much they care about their well being? I've learned through experience that you never know when it will be the last time you see, talk or touch a person. Why not end a conversation or the day with a message expressing your gratitude for them?

There are those people who have a difficult time expressing any kind of feelings. Typically, it is easier to express feelings of anger, disappointment or frustration. But to express the joyful feelings such as "I'm so happy this person is in my life!" or "I am grateful I've found the person who will stick by my side through anything!" is very hard for them. Maybe they were raised in a family that never said it? Maybe they don't realize the importance of expressing such positive words? Maybe it's laziness or stubbornness? Perhaps they are fearful of trusting another or being vulnerable? All I know is that if you find one person out of the billions of people on this earth that you want to spend every day with, then saying those three little words can't be too hard. Saying "I love you" is so easy! It's also quick. But for those that just can't bring themselves to say it, below are some alternative messages:

  • "I'm sorry I've been in a weird mood lately. Thanks for understanding and being patient"
  • "I'm loyal and faithful to you"
  • "I'm proud of who you are"
  • "You're my best friend and I like hanging out with you"
  • "Thanks for always being there for me. Your support and encouragement means everything"
  • "I'm attracted to you and your spirit"
  • "Your life brings joy to my world"
  • "I miss being near you, holding your hand and laughing"
  • "I'm committed to you and our life together forever"

I feel so blessed that God gave me the gift to really FEEL love and EXPRESS it outwardly. I truly believe there is a lot of positive energy associated with those three simple yet powerful words...

I LOVE YOU!!!!
